With over 40 years of combined experience in Japanese acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine, our practitioners are dedicated to bringing your life back into balance.
Sung Kim became California state board licensed as an acupuncturist in 2007 and nationally certified by the National Certification Commission in Acupuncture in 2006. He obtained his Master of Science in Traditional Chinese Medicine in 2007 from the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in San Francisco, California.
His personal journey into Chinese Medicine is deeply transformative. Diagnosed as 100% permanently disabled by three different medical doctors, Sung tried various conventional treatments without success. Upon seeking acupuncture and herbal treatment, he experienced remarkable pain relief and complete resolution of his "permanent disabilities." This profound healing experience became his calling to help others discover the same transformative power of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
Sung specializes in the Kiiko Matsumoto method — a precision-based Japanese acupuncture style known for being gentle and highly effective. He has also trained extensively in Master Tung's acupuncture and the Tan Balance Method. His clinical internship included work at the Rehabilitation Ward of California Pacific Medical Center, and he has interned for approximately two years with Dr. Lifang Liang, MD, a renowned specialist in IVF acupuncture techniques.
In 2019, Sung earned his ACN (Applied Clinical Nutritionist) credential from Life West Chiropractic College, bringing a whole-food based, functional nutrition approach to treating the root causes of disease. He maintains a strong commitment to continuing education, regularly attending advanced trainings in reproductive health, pain management, and functional wellness.
Susan Ko became California state board licensed as an acupuncturist in 2006 and nationally certified by the National Certification Commission in Acupuncture in 2005. She obtained her Master of Science in Traditional Chinese Medicine in 2006 from the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in San Francisco, California.
Susan's path to holistic medicine began with a transformative personal experience. After becoming ill during a rural medical outreach program in South America, she found little help in conventional medicine. Through the care of a homeopath, she experienced profound healing that led her to explore holistic healing modalities. This experience impressed upon her the importance of addressing the whole person — mind, body, and spirit.
Susan's passion for Chinese Medicine deepened after traveling to China and Tibet, where she learned qigong and witnessed the medicine's widespread effectiveness. She has worked with renowned specialists including Dr. Lifang Liang, a leading expert in fertility and gynecology. She brings together knowledge from homeopathy, naturopathy, nutrition, and energy medicine into her integrated practice.
Susan has a particular passion for treating women's health concerns, especially infertility, couples undergoing IUI and IVF, menstrual and menopausal imbalances, and chronic migraines. She completed advanced post-graduate training in Canonical Chinese Medicine and specializes in the Kiiko Matsumoto method — the same precision-based acupuncture style taught at Harvard Medical School.
